30:18 It would be less of the hard work if it weren't on Facebook and therefore could be more easily automated.

23:56 But you're aware that the machine isn't perfect with that and that you might need to go through everything anyway, and be it for checking/correction? There's a reason why the human works in service of the machine so that the machine may serve humans, because machines have no clue nor interest what it is humans know or care about.

20:05 Can stuff on Slack be made public? It's also a proprietary platform/dependency not different from Facebook, so how would you get things off from Slack (I know that there's a plugin, but that doesn't either work on your behalf, but copies everything to their server first, including the posts from other people which could be considered a privacy violation, to only then give you a download link of decent quality)? If you're on the "gratis" plan, they don't tell you in advance that you can only read 10k messages, so after you're invested, they do the extortion thing to make you pay, or otherwise you might loose the capability and data again just as if you never had it to begin with.

18:02 To do it from the outside, it's certainly against their terms of service. But if somebody wants to waste his lifetime for a rescue/preservation operation, maybe their API is usable enough to get the stuff off, or the data protection information request, both probably tied to individual accounts.

17:15 If Facebook doesn't cooperate (and why should they?), you're not going to. Even if you can get your dump thanks to EU data protection legislation, that's not necessarily of value depending on the data format and you probably wouldn't get the data of all the others you were responding to.

46:15 Automated systems taking care of trivial stuff will only yield trivial results.
