2:27:35 That's so incredibly naive. This kind of activism is sold today as a product, as a lifestyle accessory, and while a few factories got decent filters into their chimneys, we do a lot more of it faster in other places where nobody looks after it. Sure, Germany might look clean here and there, but don't believe for a second that the environmental destruction in the regions that produce our stuff that then needs to be transported here just to be transported back to be dumped as waste, that any of it is better in comparison to a few decades ago.

1:56:05 There are few sparks for me as there's little about Engelbarts tool system side. I personally don't have a shortage in the area of consciousness development, theories or philosophy. I in fact need to solve problems, because if I don't, they continue to be a problem for me, no matter in what spiritual state I might arrive to, or if I learn to accept/embrace the problem, that's not always an option (as can be easily demonstrated).

1:51:21 It's great for you if you don't feel miserable about your/our future.

1:39:04 What's the scientific consensus on an alternative cheap energy source? Why do you think are people cutting trees in Indonesia?

1:37:20 We, the West, continue to make sure that they can never develop, and now the Chinese are doing it too (just guess why, of all people, it happens to be the Chinese, it's not because of their love and support for the continent, I can assure you).

1:33:45 They've given up, and what else could you do, the interesting thing is that the older generation doesn't seem to be miserable and appears to keep trying.

1:29:10 That's also because they have lower life-expectancy (so some countries there are quite young on average, their 20-30 is our 40-50) and indeed less choice to waste time the way we can with our infrastructure, attractions and lifestyle idols, but surely they want to, if they only could!

1:28:08 That's another effect of the computers and the network. Not only can we enjoy all the communication and meet people online, it's also that communicating people and meeting online (in that case typically in games or watching videos or social media) are a huge time drain and also needs a lot of electrical energy, so it's really easy to escape reality and be occupied with other things and entertainment, and the big Internet monopolies also contribute their fair share to keep everybody in a passive consumerist state (on their platform). The ones who do realize what's going on probably perfecty well understand that their future is fucked up beyond repair, so who would get into the enormous effort of changing anything when stuff was ruined from generations before? People of our age might be of the rare historical time where we can remember times at which there was no Internet while growing up, but those who only get to see how it is today, they don't look at it as amazing technology, they see it as a product, as an appliance or mere utility.

1:17:55 No, no, no, privacy is for the stuff that should be nobody else's business, the right for you as an individual to keep things for yourself. Secrecy is for things you actively need to keep secret, because their disclosure could lead to greater harm than a violation of privacy, which would be "only" disrespectful towards you, not respecting your sovereignity of deciding to not to share, from which can also come great harm, but different harm.

1:12:07 Do we have the time and opportunity to talk to the majority of individuals on the planet that they have to change their ways, including the new ones who come into the world every day?

52:30 That's one strategy, to put out your counterstatements proactively, in advance, so you keep the initiative about what people learn about you. Doesn't always work, but yeah.

32:55 and 46:44 You have no idea, beware of the trolls and people dynamics! It's just that the recordings and calls aren't "interesting" enough to that kind of people, and they're still a little hard to find.

41:47 We had the supporting technology already 50 years ago and lost it again for totally stupid reasons. What keeps me awake is what is still missing from what was possible 50 years ago, and what hasn't been developed yet. But it's fine if you don't mind using Zoom, YouTube, Google Docs/Spreadsheets, Facebook and the web.

2:29:11 The refugee help even more so, I'm busy with that myself. All that "refugees welcome" is utterly bullshit, for the following reason: who invaded Afghanistan too fast without any plan where the Soviets failed earlier, for no other reason than to produce vengeance images for the media at the expense of the unsuspecting Afghan people? Who invaded Iraq for oil on the basis of some fake photoshop "weapons of mass destruction" claims, sending all personell of the largest Iraqian employer, the military, into joblessness without alternative perspectives and thus created the IS (not to mention the Abu Ghraib incidents)? Who held onto the demand that Assad can't remain president just because of his ties to the Russians, where nobody ever before cared about it and he is in office to this day in dangerous regime change games? Who one-sidedly terminated the renting contract for the Sevastopol harbor for the Russian Black Sea Fleet and caused the ongoing, but dangerously forgotten war in the Ukraine? Who was it again that colonialized the African state that long that a military coup was needed to introduce independence from the Commonwealth, but then lead to a very troubled dictatorship, against which the newly established "democracy" doesn't look much better either because the former opposition is exploiting the hell out of the country now as it is their turn? Who was it that needed to get rid of Gaddafi again because of oil, so now we're in deep trouble with the local militias? Please help me, who was all of this again? Step one to help refugees would be to stop destroying their countries, not the poor things we fail terribly to do here in Europe despite of all our resources. At first we fucked up their countries, and as they fled to here (and many other places, not to forget), we fuck them up a second time, as if refugee activists can do much here to stop how asylum law and fair procedure is circumvented by our government. Do you know how much of the enthusiastic young people of the second half of 2015 is left at the refugee volunteers in my group, what they have achieved? Let me tell you, it's 0.000%! We're committing a major crime against humanity here, and literally nobody cares, to the contrary, we're glad that we're committing it.
