1:57:00 And here's the absolute vs. the relative. Question for you guys: if there's no experience, can there be "reality"?

1:56:27 Sure, you go by philosophical pragmatism, because whatever reality actually is, you only have your experience of it to work with, so why bother with all the other potentialities until you encounter to experience them as well? "I'm thinking, therefore I am", equally pragmatic, establishing your own existence on the basis that you can, therefore that's what you decide to work with, because it's also the only or main thing you can work with and don't have other ways of external proof. None of that helps too much in regard of the question if it is really real-real, but you can say: who cares? So now let's talk about the other options, they might be far more difficult and interesting, especially if you don't allow yourself the liberty to take things into esoterics, into spiritual realities, but try to actually have a plan/approach for it.

1:55:10 Yeah, but that indeed is the problem: how do you know that they take place in cases where you don't observe them? If you just assume them via common sense, sure, they might be part of your subjective perception of reality, but it can be entirely wrong. If you observe them, how do you establish that you really have observed them?

1:51:29 I doubt that the critique of science is harming science, as if science would be objective and the opposite subjectivity then. No, science as a tool demands to question things, to dismiss things that can be proven to be incorrect and to accept what can be proven, until it's incorrectness is proven as well, but those fundamental rules are rarely applied to science itself, because then we would run into the Gödel problem, into problems of reality or only the perception of reality, and find out that science is a pretty bad tool we only use because we don't have a better one. And then there are the believers of the science religion, who based their world view entirely on the current scientific opinion, and evangelize and get very upset if somebody has a different perspective than them, and who unscientificly refuse the application of scientific principles/methods onto their own tool and approach. It's also not that science needs to be defended, there are plenty of people who do that all the time, including the instant reaction in this call, it's more that some scepticism is needed towards science because there are people who have never heard about the possibility that the method might be insufficient. What happened/happens with Trump has nothing to do with this, instead, it's about money and prestige and things like that.

1:38:24 Ideas are only worth something if you already have a machine of experienced teams that perfected the execution, and you run out of your own ideas despite everyone of us has plenty of them every day. If you're the Samwer brothers, ideas are worth something, but only if you're one of the brothers. Ideas, frankly, aren't copyrightable, it's only the expression. I think there's no law at all that "protects" ideas, not patents, not trademarks, nothing else I know of.

36:59 By now, there are strong suggestions that multiple personalities don't exist, some people started to believe that something else is going on psychologically. Still, calling him "Bill" can certainly be a reality, it's just that multiple identities might not be the correct or only explaination any more.

2:02:44 It's actually worse. People don't acknowledge that the islands sink into the ocean or deny it, they simply don't care because they're not affected. Not stopping driving/flying around or living in urban megacities, that's what each of us totally care about individually as well as collectively, we don't care at all about the islands, and if we do, then just because we fear that the mechanisms behind that might one day in the far feature affect our style of living as well, so we totally freak out in advance, it's not about the islands or nature or environment in the slightest. It doesn't need a lot of science or its denial or its affirmation to see that something is wrong, business soon enough discovers that resources run empty and sometimes doesn't regenerate, the larger the scale, the sooner obviously.
